This picture of a cherry tree in blossom, has won me a Canon EOS 450D camera.
I was sceptical of the quality of digital photography for a long while, always preferring film. It’s pretty good now, and so I thought it was time I acquired a decent digital SLR camera, and now I’ve got one.
The competition in Shortlist magazine, was spotted by my colleague Mark and he knew I was after a camera. I didn’t expect to win of course, but it’s jolly convenient.
I hoped the judges would like the mix of urban and natural, everyone else seems to. The theme was something like where I live, which is sort of sying 'shoot what you want'. Technically, I don't actually live in Crawley where it was shot, but my father-in-law does, and so I spend quite a bit of time there.
