Our son Ted likes his Hot Wheels cars, and so do I. These are some of my favourites.
We all like taking pictures of our children, and I’ve got plenty of them — pictures not children.
I also like to document my children’s favourite toys, and their shoes. When I see pictures my father took of us as children, I’m always fascinated by what we were playing with and what we were wearing, and I wish there was a better record.
So I take pictures of toys and shoes, for posterity. Shoes and not whole outfits, because that would be a bit weird, and shoes still look good when they’re not being worn.
Also, I have some vivid memories connected with specific shoes; a horrible pair of sandals for example, and a daring pair of red football boots at a time when all others were black.
